Four Tips to Avoid Paid Survey Deception
When it comes to paid surveys, "Scam" may as well be the most common terminology used for them. This is so because a few of them are a scam, but this does not hold true for all of them. New users are easy prey for these scam sites as they lack experience and can be fooled easily.
So how does one know which paid survey is a scam and which is not? Well there is no simple hard and fast rule. There is just no specific guarantee about any site at all. How ever there are a few tips which may prove helpful in avoiding deception. They might come in handy for a newbie, starting his first online business. Following are four most important pointers on how to ensure the legitimacy of the paid survey:
1) Perhaps the best way to identify which survey is a scam is to read about them in online forums. Look for user's comments, people generally share their experiences with others on such forums and you might find useful information about the survey you are willing to take. If your friends and family members are also interested in paid surveys then it would be wise to ask them if they have any knowledge about the authenticity of a particular survey site.
2) Do not be tempted by high offerings of the companies. Those which say they pay you a lot usually don't pay at all. Don't fall prey to false guarantees and testimonials as they can be fabricated with ease.
3) Read the company policies with due diligence and make sure you understand everything clearly and completely. Mark out anything ambiguous and clear it with the company. Also check if the company provides any contact information such as a phone number or email address etc. Usually a phone number provides surety that one can contact the company personally in case of any default on part of the company.
4) There are a few sites which maintain a list of companies which offer paid surveys. Such sites require the user to provide some personal information and/or some initial subscription charges. One should beware of such sites because most of them sell your personal information to marketers. Sometimes even the list provided by such sites contains broken or unavailable links which leads to a total loss of money.
