Recently, I noticed many websites try to promote the idea of making money online. One of the methods is participating surveys especially targeting at â?owork at home mom.â? Some website even claims that survey earning can be as much as $2500 per month or even more and collects membership fee. I never realized the earning could be that much so decided to give a try and joined one of those paid members.
The result was quite disappointing. What provided by those paid membership site is a list of survey panels which can be obtained freely if you can Google and organize, and the payment per survey is not what claimed to be. The most common payment for each survey is around $1.00 to $5.00 depending on the length of time required to finish and most survey takes around ten to thirty minutes to complete. The only surveys that can be paid higher than $50 are those surveys offered from focus group or involve with home or phone interview.
Paid surveys are indeed good source of money if you have a lot of free time and the goal is just to earn some pocket money. It may be a good source of income for some students or shoppers too, but definitely cannot be used for the purpose of replacing major income.
So, how much you can earn exactly? To be honest, the average earning for my case is around $50 per month with spending like 60 to 90 minutes per day. Of course, I could not participate survey from focus group because I am full time employee which definitely limits my earning. However, survey from focus group is rarely offered due to the location restriction. One thing to bear in mind that it is impossible to be qualified for every survey you received online because all survey has prescreening process and you simply cannot fit to every demographic requirement.
It sounds very disappointing, right? But if you have patient and free time, the earning can be accumulated to some decent amount. Soon, I will be able to replace my LCD monitor with a fancy model using my earning from surveys.
One thing I have to remind if you do decide to earn money from surveys. Most survey panel will not pay you until the earning is accumulated beyond the threshold which is normally between $30 and $50. It is also very important to read the policy of each survey panel before sign on because some of them do not offer cash.
