Online there is a lot of information for various ways that people can make money. One idea, on which a lot of content has been written is that of paid surveys.
Before analysing this opportunitiy there is a general query as to why do they even exist - they exist because companies of all types - from car manufacturers to dog food makers are all very interested in knowing what we really think of their products or their marketing efforts.
Surveys give companies an insight into various things which then helps them to market or align themselves to perform better in the markets in which their products are being sold.
How it works: You sign up with a paid survey site and give some information about yourself and your interests. When they have a survey and need it filling they write to you and then ask you to participate in a survey matching your interests. This is done normally online from which you then get a reward or an incentive for filling out a survey.
The theory is that if you complete enough of these you can make a good part time income just from giving your opinions!
What's the catch? There are a few catches to most of these schemes which you need to know about:
Surveys often don't pay very much money. In many cases it will be only 10p/20p/50p or so each. You won't be able to join in an unlimited number of surveys. You might only get offered one or two a month.
Most survey companies only pay out when your earnings reach a minimum amount of, say, £20 or £50. That could take ages to reach. Some companies only pay out in shopping vouchers - which isn't really an income.
If you want to make money fast it is not the best way in which to make yourself rich as the rewards are still relatively low but it definitely is a good option until you look at other options on how to make money.
Surveys are still prevalent on the web and do very well in terms of success and generating value for businesses. Before big brands release products or begin a marketing campaign they correlate as much information as possible. The most reliable way is to actually ask the people who may well be their customers about what they like and do not like. This is something that will not change.
