Paid Surveys - Are they Legitimate?

While browsing over the internet, often you find yourself on websites covered with banners and advertisements. Many of them would usually be overlooked by you, but for those that offer you something for free or promise to reward you cash are probably the only ones that you will stop by to lend an eye for a moment. Most of them will be offering you discounted products and services that you may avail, or just another coupon you could redeem on one of those online websites. All this may be offered just for a few lines on feedback forms and surveys.

The real question lingering over many people's minds today is are these paid surveys really worth the effort? Do they actually pay? What sources of money do they use? How are these guys earning from it? This is a question I believe many have tried but do not seem to answer as accurately as it really is working.

For research work companies all around the globe spend thousands or even millions per annum to understand customer demand, his perception and whether if a person is satisfied with using their product or service. A firm or corporate body may directly go to these many research firms and pay them a price to do their research work or simply do them on their own. This kind of research is known as Tailor-made research. It only consists of questions and queries pertaining to a very specific group of target audience and people would be given incentives in the form of gifts, free products or even cash.

While on the other hand what most survey sites offer to provide you is based on 'Syndicated research'. The job of many survey sites is to collect data from normal internet users over their usage patterns, their tastes, their interests, their beliefs, their likes and dislikes to understand their customers more than they themselves do.

What these survey sites do is, they come across several people who might actually find the research very useful, or who could benefit from the data anyways. This information would then be exchanged at a price much greater than what we as lay men could imagine and reap much higher payouts than they actually pay to the survey takers.

These surveys are actually the source of knowledge for many e-commerce business operators and multi nationals to determine any problem or any unsatisfied need that is associated with their product and try to amend it or take proper actions and to maintain their services at a level that they promise.
